An Update just for you Nana and Nanny Jen

Sorry Nana, it's been so long. Kegan is sick with a nasty cold so the one picture hopefully will tide you over until we can get some better pictures....particularly without that green beast in her mouth! By the way, thank you Nana for the super cute outfit. We love it.
Sesame Street Zombie

As for Nanny Jen, here are the pictures of Uncle Paran's new car! It is so sweet. The fact that it can fit a carseat in it nicely is so tempting. Scary fast and AWESOME!!! It's a Corvette engine in a mature adult exterior. Perfect for the weekend adventurer and weekday buisnessman combo.

Aaron's car in the dark....sorry, we got what we got Jen.

Schnazzy interior complete with all bells and whistles....except for auxillary port (you'll have to ask Aaron about that one, ipod reject). I think the 400 plus horsepower makes up for it, though.

Check out those horses!!

Weekend with the family!

Nana, Pawpa, Nanny Jen, Uncle Kirk, and Cousins Evan and Ava all flew in Friday night to visit for the weekend. We had so much fun. Uncle Aaron hung out too, so we had all the family together. The kids played and played and played. The girls ran around squealing and throwing little drama fits.....Uncle Aaron swears he is never having kids. The rest of us thought it went really well. No major drama, just girls being girls. Sunday we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was Kegan's first time there and she loved it. She wore herself out!

Wow! Look at all the animals! (note Ava playing it cool in the back)

Sweet Evan on a lizard statue at the zoo.

Kegan trashed her other dress when we got home from the zoo, so we had to have a wardrobe change. She and Ava played "Ring Around the Rosie" and this picutre is after Kegan backed up and fell. She usually just falls after the song, but for some reason today, she started backing up until she hits something and then falls on it....in this case, it was on her Daddy.

In this video, the girls are playing nice. Kegan decides to rush the ending a bit, but it was sweet.

This video starts off with Kegan fussing Ava. She did a lot of that over Christmas, but really did much better this time and only fussed Ava a little. Later, Ava called Kegan mean and even told her to hush when she fussed her. Served Kegan right! When they are sweet together it was so cute....even Paran Aaron thought so.

No More Cast......Yeah!!

Friday was the big day that Kegan finally got rid of her cast. We were all so happy to see it go.

Rock on! This is the last time you'll see me with this!!

This open mouth expression of excitement is Kegan's new thing. She started doing it last week and it is hilarious. She will even take her pacifier out just to make this face.

Whoa! Check out this arm! So that's what was under there?

And this also was under there. The scary stuff in Kegan's cast.

I thought I did such a good job trying to keep Kegan's cast clean. I cut up a bunch of my socks and made her little sleeves to protect from some, but apparently not all, yuck from getting in Kegan's cast. I blame her father for some of this for giving her a banana to play with on her way to daycare one morning. It took me 10 minutes to dig it out of the cast when we got to school. It was a scary discovery. While driving that morning, I heard squishing from the backseat, to find Kegan squishing a banana chunk under the palm of the cast....that was yuck. Guess it could have been worse. Could have been broccoli or fish!

Kegan the cutie

Sunday night we went to Fudruckers with Uncle Paran and Kegan got to enjoy a very messy chocolate chip cookie.

Ummmmmmm....Yummy!

I think a chocolate goatee is a good look for me.....no?

One of Kegan's teachers, Tracy, is known for her ability to get the girls at daycare to sit still and have their hair done. Kegan sported a side ponytail last week and this is her first set of pigtails.

You want some water?

These pictures were also taken in the car as we waited outside for Daddy to come home since he locked us out of the house today.

Awwww! Everybody knows I still use a pacifier, Mom. So why'd you take it away for the picture?

Ahhhh, distracted by the random receipt in Mommy's car.

Since our latest blog.....

It has been a while since my last blog entry, but we have been a little busy and preoccupied. We are trying to buy a new house, which led to us needing to sell our house and so on and so on. We weren't really looking, but while I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping, I happened to pass by a house we had dreamed of owning one day. It was for sale and we decided to "just check it out". It has turned out to be a super deal that we are really happy with. The house is a little larger than we need right now, but the property is an absolute dream. It is 2.6 acres in the city limits (only a mile from our current house). We really like where we live since our commutes are really easy into work. We will still be 6 miles from Six Flags, the Rangers' stadium and the new Cowboys' stadium. Kegan can even have a horse one day. We just had the house inspected today, so here are some pictures we took while we were there.

Kegan and her Daddy enjoying the swing (already there, how convenient)

Part of the backyard from the back porch, note the two sheds, playhouse, and swing. All ready to go

The other half of the backyard

The side yard full of mesquite trees

Half of the front yard, you can see the stone entrance with iron gate. there is an iron fence along the entire front of the property

inside of the red shed, junky, but has great potential (in Madison's eyes, it's just a shed to me?)

This is one of the bedrooms, pink? That may have to change. We'll see

Kegan's new cast

It's HOT PINK!!! Today Kegan went to get her new cast. Of course it was right at her nap time and she was an absolute beast. She flailed the entire time they were putting her hot pink cast on. You would think she would be excited to have that colorful new toy attached to her arm. It's much harder than the other one. She went straight to bed for a nap when we got home. I woke her up after only an hour because I wanted her to sleep tonight, so I couldn't really get any good pictures becuase she was doing so much crying and carrying-on.

unfun bathtime with a cast

Since we are weaning Kegan from her pacifier, she has resorted to using her babydoll bottles
Happy bedhead Wednesday morning (just thought it was cute so had to throw it in)

We had a great family weekend together. Saturday the temperature was in the 80's so we took advantage and went for a run on the Trinity Trails. Kegan worked so hard riding in her jogger that she insisted on drinking half of my Gatorade. She spit up purple for the next hour. I think she may have overdone it.

Glug-glug-glug-glug!

Sunday morning Kegan learned a new trick. She can get food into her mouth using a spoon. She has been playing with it at mealtimes for a while now, and was starting to put it in her mouth, so we loaded it with food, and she can do it. Not too good at scooping it herself, but it's a start. After that we went back to the Trinity to run but this time the temperature was in the 30's. Big difference a day can make.

The self feeding was going great until "Elliot Moose" came on TV. Then she was just distracted

Kegan New Year's Day watching the view from Paran Aaron's balcony. It was so breezy. Kegan loved it.

This was Kegan taking her Daddy for a walk at a rest stop on our way home from Christmas vacation. I think it is such a sweet picture. One of my favorites.

This video is from a while back. Kegan started straining and turning bright red, just becuase we laughed I suppose. It was so funny. You can't really tell the impressiveness of the color she turns. It was funny to us. Guess you had to be there.

Kegan's new fashion accessory?!

Well, what new tricks can Kegan do now? She may be a gymnast since she is already practicing flipping off her changing table. I know there is a warning on the changing pad....Do Not Leave Child Unattended!, but really who listens to that.....Obviously not us. This morning Madison had Kegan ready for morning diaper change and realized he forgot her eardrops in the bathroom. She was lying there half asleep....or so he thought. He entered the room just as she face planted into the floor. Miraculously, her face and neck were ok. She was however, refusing to put weight on her right arm. You could squeeze it and move it all around with no pain. She even used it to play, but when she pushed up to stand, she'd holler a bit. I felt very uneasy about it so Madison brought her in the the ER at Cook's just to have it checked out....probably nothing, right......WRONG! It's a broken radius. A "buckle" fracture to be exact. It is a non-displaced fracture that only bends and hurts when pressure applied to the end of the bone causing it to flex at the fracutre point. That's why it didn't hurt to touch or bruise and swell. Madison's spirit is the only thing bruised. He's beating himself up pretty bad. I keep telling him that we will do many more stupid things as parents, we are just fortunate kids are pretty tough. After all, if crack-heads can raise children, we should be able to right? Kegan tried to make her Daddy feel better by showering him with kisses and hugs all day. She was extra kissy today. I love that!Hate I missed them all while I was at work. I did get to visit them in the ER for a bit while I was waiting for my first case to start. Conveniently the children's hospital connects to my hospital by a skybridge, so I just walked over.

Wonder if she'll become ambidextrous since she can't use her right hand as well?

I want some kisses!

Kegan on the other hand is fine. Now that her arm is stabilized, she doesn't even know anything is wrong. She just thinks she has a new toy. It is great fun to hit her cast on things and pretty funny to bonk yourself in the head with it. She even walks around pretty good with it. She just has a temporary cast now. She'll get the pretty one Monday. Apparently no one puts casts on over the holidays. So we will wait. Who needs a cast for the holiday anyway. I think the hardest part for Kegan will be no baths. She lives for bathtime. We'll have to get crafty and figure something out.

Kegan getting along just fine

Even getting into messes without any trouble at all
