Disneyworld 2010 days 1 and 2

Disneyworld is awesome! I don't know who had a better time, us or the kids. I am so glad Madison and I went 3 years ago and did all the adult stuff, because it was so great to devote this whole trip to seeing Disney through the girls' eyes. I wish I knew how to covert our DVD of Kegan's first view of the castle to a format for the blog....it is priceless. 8 days was the perfect length for a first time visit. We had plenty of time to do what we wanted to do and we could squeeze in much needed naps without feeling like we were missing out on anything. Kegan was a bit scared of the fully costumed characters at least when it came time for hugs, but the real-looking people she loved (princesses, Alice, and Mary Poppins). Truly may not have any memories of the trip, but she loved being there. She actually was awake for more parades and fireworks than Kegan. Princess Kegan ready for Disneyworld!

Truly getting hydrated for the big-long day

Ahhh, made it to Orlando, now for the bus ride to our hotel

1st order of buisness, get to the castle. This was us trying to settle Kegan enough for a picture infront of the castle.....impossible. She was so excited!

That night we had dinner at the Hoop De Doo Restaurant. It was a great dinnershow. Jennifer made these awesome "Jessie" outfits for the girls. Sweetest thing was when we met the others at the airport in New Orleans, Kegan and Ava immediately began walking hand in hand. It was so cute. After 3 days together, those feelings kinda faded and the tattling and little diva attitudes began to reign, but they still had plenty of fun too.

That night, we headed back to Magic Kingdom for the Wishes fireworks and the girls were ready...glowsticks in hand.....

then, Kegan fell asleep and missed the whole thing:(

The castle was even more beautiful at night all light up with icicles for Christmas.

The next morning we were out to Epcot for breakfast with the princesses. Our little princesses again all decked out thanks to Nanny Jennifer.

Even Evan had cool tshirts everyday. He was toughing it up with his Mickey pirate shirt since he had to go the the girly breakfast.

I'm so glad they give you time to eat before the princesses come out becuase once Kegan got a glimpse of Snow White...it was all over.

Ava was so sweet with all the characters. She's been to Disney so many times, I think she feels like she is one of them. She just jumps right in with hugs and kisses for everyone. Truly and Kegan, not so much.

Truly managed to even sit long enough for a glamour moment with Cinderella
Ariel was great. They amazingly capture the personalities of all the characters. I think the girls enjoyed talking to her the most.

Sadly, we were so caught up with the princesses, that we almost forgot we were supposed to be celebrating Kegan's birthday. She finally got her cupcake and enjoed eating the Mickey gummies and sprinkles.

after the tummies were all full and everybody princessed out we headed to Nemo and had fun looking at all the cool sea creatures and talking with Crush the turtle

Oh, no Bruce ate everyone!

Truly loved sitting on the ledge by all the tanks. It was like the seat was made just for her. (and yes, I am wearing Kegan's crown. everyday I somehow would end up wearing her hair accessories...crowns, mickeyears, bows and hairbands. i remember begging my mom to cut my hair so I didn't have to wear bows and barettes anymore, hope she never does that to me. I love those blonde curls)

I don't know what Ava told Kegan for this one, but Daisy is the only character Kegan let get close enough to her for a picture. She was kinda scared on this one, but settled down for some reason on this one?

Ready or Not Disney, Here We Come!!!!

So, we are ready and packed for our 8-day Disney trip. The girls were in bed by 7 and the car is loaded. We have a real early start in the morning, so hopefully I can get this blog caught up and ready for pictures when we get back. As you will see in this next video, Kegan is all ready for the Disney princesses and was practicing her Ariel performance in our closet, with Truly acting as her captive audience. Funniest thing is Kegan practicing her bows. She is such a "closet diva"!

Subtitles on: "wish I could be......a part of your world!"

Kegan and Truly decided to help pack by placing random stuff and toys in bags
Princess Aurora aka Kegan. Nanny Jen made this beautiful dress for Kegan. Truly has a Snow White one and Ava Cinderella. They will be so cute!
Truly tried to mail herself back to Nana after we got her package

This is Kegan performing in dance class. She is the 3rd from left. We got to actually go in the room and be their audience and they all did really well....for 2yr olds.

Truly turned 1yr old November 4th. I was at work and Poor Madison braved the doctor with
both girls alone! Such a brave good Daddy.
Poor neglected Truly enjoying her bday cake. We are celebrating her birthday in Disney along with Kegan's so she sort of got shafted on her actual bday.
Now lets rewind a bit back to Halloween. I really don't have any good pictures of the girls in their costumes becuase you just can't get them to keep still and pose....well I can't anyhow

Truly the pink poodle and Kegan the sneaker wearing ballerina

The people at the girl's school, however, can get them to sit still and take really cute pictures. I should have taken the time to scan them before I posted them, but these are just pictures of pictures with my phone camera, so sorry about the quality.

for some reason I didn't take one of Kegan by herself, but it is kinda depressing anyhow. She looks so old. Like a real big girl:( It is going by way too fast.

This is a true Truly picture. She is about this cheesey most of the time.

Even before Truly mastered walking, she was an avid climber. She loved climbing this ladder and sitting a it like a table

Kegan decided to climb on with Truly, but then realized she had been working on some stinkies while climbing, so she quickly got up.

This picture is included because there is some genetic link in our family, that makes us all sit with our leg over the side of the chair. I got it from my Dad and apparently both girls got it too! Strange?

Even though we don't see Paran Aaron often, Kegan still loves her "Pan".

Today we decided to heck with the American Academy of Pediatrics and turned Truly's carseat around. As you can see she was enjoying the new view and the movie

I think she is working on tooth #8 because she is keeping her fingers in her mouth lately.

This movie thing is great!

Truly is developing this nasty habit of saying "eeeeh?"

and for the grand finale.....Truly can walk. She started officially walking October 29th. She is still perfecting it, but has finally decided it is better than crawling. This was video from Halloween day. Figure if she can do it in tights on hardwood it's official.

Around the House

These are a bunch of random pictures that Madison and I send back and forth on our phones when one of us isn't around. My one rule about him staying at home loving on our sweeties without me around is that I get daily pictures and videos. He does a great job. The only downside is that the videos are poor quality and short to keep text message length, but they suffice to keep me going while I'm away.
Yummy chocolate!

pureed spinach???? not so yummy!

....and mangoes, just make you downright sleepy.

This Snow White bow just sets off this outfit, don't ya think?

This was a super cool train exhibit at the Children's hospital I saw as I was sneaking across the street for some Starbucks at work. I tried to get Madison to get the girls over to see it, but they were napping. It was really cool.

This was Truly with the stomach virus on our way back from Mississippi. I got it the next day and I did NOT look that happy.

The girls hanging out in the back yard while we burned some stuff in the chiminea on one of our first cool evenings

This kitchen set and the princess table and chairs were some great Craigslist finds....I love used stuff!

Please notice in this picture that Madison really thought Kegan's ruffle socks belonged like this? In his defense, I do suppose he never donned a pair in his youth. Guess they just didn't go with the mesh half-shirts and mullet:)

Swinging in this cool flower coat is fun. Apparently makes you super cheesy too!

Ohhhh, look how nicely Kegan's bike goes with my outfit today!

Hey sis, is it alright if I take it for a spin?

Truly is a climber, but still no walking....well, actually she is taking steps on her own every now and then, but it isn't her preferred mode of transportation just yet.

I did some fall planting, and this is what I have so far. What hasn't been habitually peed on by Cisco or pulled apart by Truly is looking really good???!

We are hosting a Halloween party this year and we were trying for some spooky lighting. It isn't all together in this picture, but you can get the idea.

The girls are starting to have a great time playing together. Just today Madison said he left them playing in the backyard while he cooked dinner. They just crack each other up and it is soooo sweet.
